Perhaps the most famous dessert in Idaho is Westside Drive In’s Idaho Ice Cream Potato. For the festival on Wednesday June 5th, at both locations, Chef Lou and his son Josh Aaron will be offering it up for only $3.49! Of course locals know there are no potatoes involved here it just looks that way. They roll a chunk of ice cream into some cocoa powder to give the dessert the signature potato appearance then they top it with whipped cream and put it over some chocolate syrup that seems like sour cream and steak sauce. The result is surprising, delicious, fun, and soooo Idaho.
You can find them at:
1929 W State St, Boise, ID 83702 (Drive in or walk up only)
or
1113 E Parkcenter Blvd, Boise, ID 83706 (Drive in, walk up, or eat inside)
