The American Ice Cream Awards recognize the best flavors in each US state and region. Award categories up for grabs in each state will include things like: Best Traditional Flavor (Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry), Best Creative Flavor, Best Non-Dairy Flavor and several more. The winners of the state awards will be announced by our panel of culinary experts during June 2021. The winning state flavors will then go head to head to compete for the regional championships. The regional champions will normally be decided at a ticketed sampling event held at the Boise Ice Cream Festival’s finale but due to COVID-19 crowd restrictions that event will be canceled for 2021 and the culinary panel of experts will choose the regional winners for this year. The event will normally allow up to 2,000 ticketed festival goers the opportunity to sample the state winners and then cast their vote for the regional champions. The regions will be Midwest, Northeast, South, and West (includes Alaska and Hawaii not pictured below):

The winners of each state category will receive:

-a medal or ribbon in recognition of their award,

-a press release to state and national publications with all of the state winners listed,

-access to use the logos and trademarks of the festival and competition for advertising purposes,

-listed on BoiseIceCreamFestival.com and AmericanIceCreamAwards.com website as the state and/or regional winner

-social media posts by Boise Ice Cream Festival, American Ice Cream Awards, and Boise’s Best Bites promoting the winning flavors and brands

-invitations to attend exclusive events for the Boise Ice Cream Festival (travel and accommodations not included) [Not included for 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions],

-and the option of assisting with the sampling of their flavor at the regional voting event [Not included for 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions]
