The History of Ice Cream In Boise @ Goody's Soda Fountain
Jun 5 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
The History of Ice Cream In Boise @ Goody's Soda Fountain

Join Robert D Austin Jr, one of the administrators of a very popular local Boise history Facebook group of over 6,000 members and special guest John Sowell of the Idaho Statesmen for the first ever panel discussion on Boise’s history with ice cream.  Also joining will be Goody’s owner Brett Palmateer and Scott Wink of Boise’s Best Bites. Discover how several key factors over the past 120 years have helped shape Boise’s obsession with the frozen treat.  From frontier town to an agriculture and dairy center of national importance, we’ll talk about how the ice cream industry in Boise went from pharmacy soda fountains to drive ins to ice cream trucks then to this modern group of ice cream makers like Goody’s, The Stil, Stella’s , Reed’s Dairy and C4 Creamery. During the morning you’ll also have the opportunity to see the team at Goody’s pulling out a batch of fresh made ice cream from that morning or making waffle cones.  [Full 2019 Ice Cream Festival Calendar] [Places to Stay in Boise

Pedals and (Ice Cream) Pints @ Jump (Jack's Urban Meeting Place)
Jun 15 @ 10:30 am – 3:00 pm
Pedals and (Ice Cream) Pints @ Jump (Jack's Urban Meeting Place)

No pints of beer, only pints of ice cream will be enjoyed on these 30-minute trips around downtown Boise with your family! No alcohol will be allowed. This will be a family and kid friendly event. Join us for a group pedaling event from 10:30AM to 3PM the day of our Grand Tasting event at Jump. This is a separate event from the Grand Tasting, but it would be super convenient for those already at Jump for the tasting. Make sure to schedule your pedaling at a time outside of your Grand Tasting session time. Kids are welcome but need to be tall enough to ride an adult bike and contribute some to the pedaling portion of the event. We’ll provide some ice cream to taste, family appropriate music to enjoy, and help make sure we all have a blast. Rides will load and unload at Jump near their display tractors at the corner of 9th Ave and W Broad Street.  [Full 2019 Ice Cream Festival Calendar] [Places to Stay in Boise
